Kristen and James – Married

On a beautiful day in Palm Beach there was a wedding. And Kristen and James looked fabulous as the bride and groom. A lot of couples say they want a relaxed wedding. But these guys really achieved that, in style. It was just so relaxed and sooo much fun. Kirsten and James just laughed their way through the day in each others arms.

Busy Bees

It seems like an age since I’ve posted anything and you might think we’d passed on or something or had been really quiet. In fact the opposite has been true. Grant and I have been super busy and unfortunately something had to give and that something was the blog and facebook pages. I’ve got thousands of images that we’re going through. But it’s worth the extra time to make sure we get them just right.

I’ve also been playing and testing new gear and new techniques to 1. make sure we’re at the top of our game and 2. to keep the passion we have for shooting burning bright. We’re going to be able to do some awesome and very cool stuff with new cameras, big and small, new lighting ideas and new techniques to get awesome images in really difficult situations.

So I’m going back to get those images out. But here’s one I took while Grant and I were on our way to Wollongong last Friday to shoot Tony and Coreen’s wet but awesome wedding.

Back soon with heaps of new images.

Lorinda and Kyle–Central Coast Wedding Photography

I know a lot of studios don’t want to do short wedding coverage, but sometimes the most interesting shoots for us are the intimate ones. And so it was for Lorinda and Kyle. Lorinda’s a complete sweetheart. I’ve got a bit of an issue with Kyle though… He’s renovated/built 1/2 a house in less time than I’ve taken to fix the outside bathroom. Come on mate! Slow down. You’re going to get me in trouble at home.Winking smile

Kyle and Lorinda got married on a super hot morning at Copacobana Beach. It was mid 30’s during the ceremony and location photos. And the location photos included a costume change. And then the rain came. Buckets of it. Luckily it eased when we arrived at the house for the rest of the family photos. All in all an action packed 3 hours for Grant and I, but with plenty of great photos for the guys to enjoy.

Thanks Guys for inviting us to your most special day.

Mel and Rocky

Fantastic day at Mel and Rocky’s wedding. It was one of the nicest ceremonies, I’ve ever been to. Had a tear in my eye as Rocky and Mel exchanged vows. It was so nice to be part of this incredible day. It was also awesome to say hi to Nicole and Dan and Michelle and David, two couple who’s weddings we’ve photographed. Enjoy the photos. There’s about 200 more here.009-M&R by Flash Gordon Photography

Five Brides and a Wedding – Bonnie and Will – Hunter Valley Wedding Photography

Grant and I got a huge buzz this weekend when we realised that there were five couples whose weddings we have photographed at Bonnie and Will’s wedding. And Colin, our first groom in this group, was the best man. It’s incredible that in the last five years all these great couples have now started families of their own. Lots of wonderful kids and babies to be seen this day.

And it’s incredibly humbling when Will described us as “more like family, than just the photographers” in his speech, which, by the way was awesome.

On an absolutely stunning day in the Hunter Valley, Bonnie and Will got married. This was an intimate day in an absolutely amazing setting. We found ourselves, again, at the Wandin Valley winery with the vines in full bloom. Bonnie and Will were married under the shade of the Eucalypts. Kangaroos lazed under trees in the distance. And a gentle breeze kept everybody comfortable. Sounds more like an ad for the Hunter. If you were making an ad. This would be the day to do it.

Lots of Will’s family made it over from Europe, so there was basically a double celebration. And to top it all off I found out that Will and Bonnies parents share exactly the same wedding day. Even though they were married in different continents and had never met until Bonnie and Will were dating.

Hope you all enjoy looking at these pictures as much as we did taking them.
