These are the overriding memories of Matt and Tamara’s wedding. It was just fun from the start. Grant and I headed to the Northern Beaches in Sydney on a stunning winters day. Honestly, the weather was just perfect. Warm but not too warm. A gentle breeze. If you had to pick a day for a wedding at Whale Beach, then this was it. It was also very, very cool to see that Tamara’s entire class had turned up to watch her get married. Tamara was stoked that they could come and I guess the kids were stoked too. Especially since it was a school day. Now that’s an excursion. After some pictures around the rock pool the group headed to the restaurant above the Surf Club for a great party. So what do you get when two chefs get married?. An awesome day and incredible food. Ash and Chad are both Chefs at the Crown Plaza in Terrigal, where they met. Chad is Mr cool, calm and collected and Ash is The Energiser Bunny. Add a few nerves and Ash was on fire. And she gave the fastest speech ever at a wedding .

This very cool couple chose to have their ceremony at Sea Farm in Copacobana. It’s the first time grant and I have ever shot there and it’s stunning. Then we went down to the beach for some photos before back up to the Farm for the reception.

Grant and I had an absolute blast (and got some awesome pictures). Thanks for having us guys. Enjoy your photos.

The ceremony was at the beautiful Mount Penang Gardens and we took some photos there before heading off to Wamberal Lagoon. Grant and I really loved how Jason and Pier organised a brilliant reception straight after the ceremony for an hour so everyone could chat and relax. It was a really great idea and executed brilliantly.

So, thanks Pier and Jason. Next time you’re over, drop by for a coffee.

I’ve also been playing and testing new gear and new techniques to 1. make sure we’re at the top of our game and 2. to keep the passion we have for shooting burning bright. We’re going to be able to do some awesome and very cool stuff with new cameras, big and small, new lighting ideas and new techniques to get awesome images in really difficult situations.

So I’m going back to get those images out. But here’s one I took while Grant and I were on our way to Wollongong last Friday to shoot Tony and Coreen’s wet but awesome wedding.

I know a lot of studios don’t want to do short wedding coverage, but sometimes the most interesting shoots for us are the intimate ones. And so it was for Lorinda and Kyle. Lorinda’s a complete sweetheart. I’ve got a bit of an issue with Kyle though… He’s renovated/built 1/2 a house in less time than I’ve taken to fix the outside bathroom. Come on mate! Slow down. You’re going to get me in trouble at home.

Kyle and Lorinda got married on a super hot morning at Copacobana Beach. It was mid 30’s during the ceremony and location photos. And the location photos included a costume change. And then the rain came. Buckets of it. Luckily it eased when we arrived at the house for the rest of the family photos. All in all an action packed 3 hours for Grant and I, but with plenty of great photos for the guys to enjoy.

Fantastic day at Mel and Rocky’s wedding. It was one of the nicest ceremonies, I’ve ever been to. Had a tear in my eye as Rocky and Mel exchanged vows. It was so nice to be part of this incredible day. It was also awesome to say hi to Nicole and Dan and Michelle and David, two couple who’s weddings we’ve photographed. Enjoy the photos.
