It rained. It poured. Grant and I think this may actually be the wettest wedding we’ve ever photographed. But how fortunate we were to have Amy and Nathan as our couple. They had the best party. And they sure didn’t let a bit of rain spoil their day. Then again, what else would you expect with the Wilby and Wiblen families involved.

Although the family is from the Central Coast, Grant and I drove to beautiful Coffs Harbour for the wedding where Amy and Nathan live and work. We had a wedding in Manly on the Friday, so it was a monumental drive with an overnight stay in Port Macquarie. The whole wedding was at the beautiful Novatel Pacific Bay resort. No driving between locations. Brilliant.

Sure they were nervous, but the gorgeous couple put on a brave face for the photographers.

And then the rain came. This was the only one minute where it didn’t rain on us the whole day. And even then it was still pretty wet. But the guys braved the elements for this location portrait, helped by the tree cover.

Safely out of the rain the bridal party gets all cuddly on us. Who’d have thought?

What struck me was, that regardless of the horrible weather and the fact we couldn’t get out the door, Amy and Nathan were just sooooo happy. It’s definitely the best part of this job to see a couple with this much joy to be finally married.

Thanks, so much guys for letting Grant and I be a part of your big day. It was a blast to be there. You, your bridal party and guests were simply brilliant and it’s one party we really are glad we got to share with you.
