Karen and Tim – Terrigal Wedding Photography

It’s not often I get to walk from home to a wedding. But we did for the lovely Karen and Tim with the whole thing being less than a kilometre from home. Karen got ready at the beautiful Whitehaven luxury house in Wamberal / Terrigal, which was also where the reception was held. A quick walk across the road to Terrigal Beach for the ceremony was  all it took. And as Grant and I well know, the less time spent travelling on your wedding day the more relaxed things are for everybody.

And I’m not afraid to admit I may have shed a tear when Tim formally adopted his son during the ceremony.

As always, enjoy the photos.

cara and nathan – central coast wedding photographers

Grant and I had the great pleasure of photographing Cara and Nathan’s wedding recently for another Perfect Images wedding. Even though Grant booked this one as Cara and Nathan live in Sydney the wedding was on the Central Coast. In fact we started 200 meters from my place. Talk about an easy commute.

The ceremony was awesome. Not only did one of their close friends become a celebrant just to be able to perform the wedding but they also held their wedding at Blue Tongue Stadium (Central Coast Stadium) in Gosford. From there it was off to The Entrance for the photos and then on to The Glass House Function Centre at the Entrance for the reception.

It was an overcast and often rainy day with a real downpour once we arrived at the reception. But Cara and Nathan didn’t flinch at the weather. They were just so happy to be married that nothing else mattered.

Enjoy the photos.

Jackie and Dan – Central Coast Wedding Photographer

Jackie and Dan had Mustangs! I looove Mustangs. They’re fun and that describes Dan and Jackie perfectly. Super relaxed. Great fun to be around.

Jackie and dan had their wedding at the beautiful Nora Head lighthouse on a stunning day. Actually it was so hot that the guests hid from the heat until just before the ceremony started. The girls got ready at Magenta Shores which is a great location before heading of to the lighthouse for the ceremony and photos. After that we headed to the Budgewoi SLSC for a simple and fun reception with friends and family. Due to the heat we moved the photos to a bit later in the day which put much less stress on the older members of the family.

Jackie and Dan would have never noticed that one of my $8000.00 Leica’s went down during the wedding. There were no shots lost and I switched to my other (identical) body without anybody noticing. One of the things about being a pro is that we always have enough backup gear so that when a camera or lens goes down we can carry on as if nothing happened. No matter who you choose to photograph your wedding please make sure they have backup gear, batteries and cards. You only get one chance to get these images. My camera is currently enjoying a holiday in Germany getting its sensor replaced. I wouldn’t mind a trip to Germany…….

Thanks jackie and Dan, for inviting us to photograph your wedding. We had a great time. And a special thanks to the great folks who look after the Lighthouse for allowing us to shoot on the roof.

Central Coast Wedding Photographers – Kathryn and Jason

So Grant and packed up our bags and headed off to the very nice Mercure Lake Macquarie Rafferty’s Resort to photograph Kathryn and Jason’s wedding. We love weddings where there’s no extra travel involved. It makes for a more easy going day. And that was definitely what happened here. Kathryn and Jason were totally relaxed. Kathryn looked beautifully elegant in a gown that suited her beautifully.

It’s always nice when we get to see couples we’ve photographed before. And it was no exception here. It was fantastic to catch up with Lisa and Luke, who’s wedding we photographed in Newcastle 4 or 5 years ago.

The day was overcast but thankfully the rain held off. Overcast light is easy to shoot in but it can be a bit boring, so we worked hard to make sure there was some contrast in as many of the shots as possible. And as the sun went down we also got to have a play with our lighting and got some fantastic shots on the waters edge and the jetty. Kathryn and Jason were both really chilled and I think it shows in the photos. There’s a calmness about them which I love.

Thanks Kathryn and Jason. It was a joy to shoot your wedding and be a tiny part of your special day.

Enjoy the photos. Here’s a few of my favourites for the day.
